I found this great lantern for 1/2 off at Joann's. I bought it thinking I would put it on my mantle, for some height. It was a little too wide to fit there, so I found another place for it. I love it, but what should I put in it? It obviously needs something...Any suggestions?

There's always the standard candle. You could add some type of berry, lemons, ornaments, etc. depending on the season. I'm not a creative person, so I can't wait to hear what other people suggest. Have you looked through any magazines like Pottery Barn, Ballard Designs, etc?

A small topiary? A stand of some kind with a pocket watch or small framed picture hanging. A tall, slender clay creation by one of the boys, an origami piece you folded, a flashlight.
