Fisher Price has some cool stuff right now for ages 4+...Braxton is wanting the Imaginext Castle and Dinosaurs. They also have some transformers called "Carnivores". The shake and go cars are cool too complete with racetrack. All made by Fisher Price...I could be a spokesperson today! Go to their website. His birthday is this week, so we'll see what he gets and then decide on Christmas. He is also wanting a "big boy bike" with a helmet...that may be a good Christmas thing. :) I would like the boys to have a wooden table and chair set too. Not too fun, but something that we could use for a long time.

Also, have you seen the bike that's a video game? Fun! We played with it in Toys-R-Us the other day. I don't remember who makes it.

Puzzles are great for the older kids. Sydney can't get enough of them. Sounds boring but they like them.

i was going to post some ideas on my blog...but haven't had time yet.
a few things ethan loves (he's 5).
plain wooden blocks...nothing fancy.
he sits and builds for at least an hour sometimes.
i also got him some "tree blocks."
they are shaped organically and uniquely and they go well with the others...they are more of a challenge, but really fun!
(i think you can look up www.treeblocks.com or www.wildflowerorganics.com or google Constructive Playthings or US Toy company)
(anywhere from $29 to $40 )

also, this is a cheap one...
hobby lobby has a kids toys aisle....
there is a B&W cardboard pirate ship that you color/paint/paste etc...
all the stuff can be stored inside of it- and its already assembled.
ethan LOVES this!
$10 (unless you get their online coupon then its $6)

my kids also love that game called
Let's go fishin" (the fish pop up and you catch them as they rotate with a little pole)
$10-15

also, ethan has something called a "Flying Turtle" that you ride (even indoors if you want).
you use your momentum to get going.
it was one of my very first blogs...check it out.
my whole family loves it!
(i wish they made them for adults)
$60-70

what about art aprons? (Hobby Lobby)
and an art box (like a painters box or fishing tackle box filled with art supplies for each of them.
my kids each have one and pretty much do "art" first thing in the mornings.
i put age appropriate art supplies for each of them in their own box...)

i love creative toys or simple ones or challenging things...
i have lots more ideas...i'll try to post more soon!
have fun!

there is also a book at amazon...called "The Silly Book" with a red cover.
ethan has it, its really oddly funny and my kids love to hear it read to them!
its an old book that has been revised and reprinted.

Thanks for the great idea guys...I'll go check them all out.

Braxton is all into crafts as well! Steve likes to call them "projects" because that's more manly sounding. :) Hobby Lobby does have some great projects for good prices.
